In his December 9, 2005 article, Hallinan accuses then Israeli prime minister, Ariel Sharon, of giving back Gaza just so that Israel could hold on to the West Bank. However, he totally ignored the fact that only a month earlier
Sharon had formed the Kadima Party with a platform that explicitly called for the unilateral withdrawal of Israeli settlements from the West Bank and Gaza. In his September 1, 2006 column he wrote that following Lebanon “Kadima is certainly dead.” Several years later Kadima is not only alive but holds more seats in the Israeli Knesset (Parliament) than any other party.
